Hi, Hayden Hook here, the man behind Dam Recordings  👋

Dam Recordings started out in 2015 when Luc Klein and I were aspiring music students. We were dreaming of turning our house into a studio and recording our own music.

Our home conversion wasn’t possible so instead, we took our studio on the road. Together we started doing location recordings with our own projects but before we knew it, word got out and Dam Recordings started growing "arms and legs".

Luc and I parted ways. He went to the USA and I stayed in Amsterdam but Dam Recordings continued to grow into something special.

Since then I’ve worked on many different projects: recording for film, film post-production, musical journalism, music videos, overdubbing and mixing, but location recording is still at the heart of what Dam Recordings is all about. Capturing the energy of an artist in the studio can be a challenge but when the music is being performed live in a real-world environment the vibe is right there from the beginning!
